Convoy S21B Active Cooling Project

Image
This project came about after my S11 Active Cooling Project. The S11 and associated heat sinks seemed a bit bulky so I looked for smaller heat sinks which would fit something like a Sofirn IF23 or a Convoy S21B LHP531. Then I found searching for 1/16 or 1/18 scale 380 sized engine heat sinks found the perfect size. On amazon it was the  32000RPM HighSpeed RC Motor Cooling Fan Heat Sink with Aluminum Alloy This had a perfect 25mm inner diameter on the heat sink. So I started smoothing them off and lubing them up. This makes the reassembly process so much more enjoyable to screw it together smoothly. Without the grabbing you feel from a rough set of threads. My process for a new light.... Remove head and tail from battery tube.  Remove O-ring from threads Check for rough spots on inside and outside threads Sand with green scrubby to smooth out.  Wipe with paper towel, use Q-tip if tight spot, interdental brush if even tighter Grease threads, O-ring divot at end of threads and O-ring with Q-tip with Super Lube Put O-ring back on, ensure outside of O-ring is still lubed Screw on cap or tail and enjoy the smooth action Double check the switch still works If excess lube, wipe off with a paper towel In the kit above I keep the following....
