Do not buy Lithium Ion batteries from Amazon, Temu, AliExpress, and Walmart.
If you can't find a manufacturer site like XTAR, Vapcell or Molicel that's a good indicator...

If the manufacturer name is nothing but 4 random letters strung together (Ex: DQGG, CBJJ, QOJH, etc.)...

Just to be clear, by BAD BATT I am referring to the tendency of low quality LI-PO batteries to trigger Thermal Runaway leading to the inevitable small explosion.
Amplified by being encased inside an aluminum flashlight.

Cheap knock off Li-Po battery

+ thermal runaway
= handheld pipe bomb.
