Do not buy Lithium Ion batteries from Amazon, Temu, AliExpress, and Walmart.

If you can't find a manufacturer site like XTAR, Vapcell or Molicel that's a good indicator...

You might have a bad batt.

If the manufacturer name is nothing but 4 random letters strung together (Ex: DQGG, CBJJ, QOJH, etc.)...

You might have a bad batt.

If the name contains in Fire(EX: Skyfire) except Surefire chances are it will soon be engulfed in.... fire...

You might have a bad batt.

If its hard to find the manufacturer on the battery label...

You might have a bad batt.

If its an 18650 and has 9900mAh...

You might have a bad batt.

Any batt which has over 6000mAh (21700, 26650, 26800) 4000mAh(18650 or less) indicates… 

You might have a bad batt.

The current max mAh is usually a VapCell so if the capacity for the battery type is way more than their max, chances are …

You might have a bad batt.

When it seems too god to be true it prob is and...

You might have a bad batt.

Look up reviews of the batts and check for "True Capacity Test" if its way lower than the label …

You might have a bad batt.


Just to be clear, by BAD BATT I am referring to the tendency of low quality LI-PO batteries to trigger Thermal Runaway leading to the inevitable small explosion.

Amplified by being encased inside an aluminum flashlight.

So....
Cheap knock off Li-Po battery

+ aluminum tube

+ thermal runaway

= handheld pipe bomb.
